Well last week two things happened, went on holiday and Michael Jackson died.
Taxi picked us up in Farnborough to Guildford where we joined the feeder coach to meet the tour coaches at the Channel Tunnel. Then from there on to the hotel in Mouskroen in Belgium. All very smooth and very well run, no issues at all. Nice hotel and a very pleasant town with nice restaurants and bars to choose from. First day was Ypres,Irish tower, Christmas Truce location, Tyne Cot cemetry, Paschendale and the Last Post at the Menin gate. Second day was Arras, Vimy Ridge, Wellington quarry and trenches. 3rd and last day was the Somme battlefields.
Our tour guide was fantastic.Enthusiastic, friendly and very knowledgeable. He really made it worthwhile. The weather was superb, lovely scenery, great beer and food and friendly locals. Really enjoyed it.
On the Friday heard that Michael Jackson had suffered cardiac arrest and died. Quite shocked and felt pretty sad. A great singer and dancer and the biggest icon of pop music. RIP MJ.
