Swine flu - Started in Mexico and has the world in a panic for some reason. Sure some people died, but normal flu has killed more and nobody worries about that! Talks of pandemics and facemasks and death and destruction. For gods sake, its just a mild form of flu, yet the papers are making it out to be end of the world!
Recession - yes we are in the financial doldrums. job losses everywhere, but there are signs of things getting better apparently. Lost my bloody job because of this too.
Current popular TV series' - Ashes to Ashes series 2, The Wire, Lost, pilot of Caprica.
